With the 2020 Nissan LEAF, the Iconic Electric Vehicle Adds More Driving Range for Virginia Drivers

Driving an electric vehicle like the Nissan LEAF works wonders for your ease of travel and your wallet, as you skip the costly necessity of filling up on gas. Still, even the best EVs, like the LEAF, have their limitations, namely their driving ranges before the battery packs need recharging. But with the new 2020 Nissan LEAF, and particularly with the recently released LEAF Plus model, that driving range expands, giving you longer times out on the roads near

What's New for 2020?

The current model year that's available here in the Washington D.C. and Leesburg area introduced the LEAF Plus to the mix, which incudes a larger battery pack, and thus a longer driving range. Early reports for the 2020 LEAF suggest that driving range will increase, but we'll also keep a lookout for any changes in trim levels and feature offerings for the next version of this iconic EV.

Performance and Capabilities

Through its electric motor, charged by a battery pack with 150 miles of range, the current LEAF produces 147 horsepower, while the LEAF Plus, with a larger battery, delivers a peppy 214-horsepower performance with up to 226 miles of range. We expect that high-end driving range to get a boost when the 2020 LEAF is announced.

Safety and Technology

Innovating how cars power along the roads near D.C. and Chantilly, the LEAF was also one of the first Nissan models to include the ProPilot Assist suite of radars, sensors and cameras that deliver a semi-autonomous driving style. That available feature will surely continue for the 2020 LEAF, which also will include plenty of handy driver aids like lane departure warning and forward collision warning, along with infotainment features to keep you connected from the road.
